Summer Student - Administrative Assistant

Pictou County Opportunity for Men-New Leaf Program is looking for a Summer Student, starting May 8, 2017. We are a Men’s Intervention Program working on the issues of Domestic Violence.

Position: Administrative Assistant for 30 hours per week (Monday-Thursday) for 10 weeks$10.85 per hour. Position starts on May 8, 2017.

Looking for student in a social sciences program such as psychology or sociology with some understanding of domestic violence preferred.

Duties include: transferring a large volume of confidential files from paper to digital format; assisting with our new fundraiser plan, and other duties that may arise.

The successful applicant will also have opportunities to observe, and become familiar with group facilitation techniques, debriefing, interviews, working with resistant clients, case management, working with high risk files, and attend community meetings as they arise.

Successful candidate will possess a positive attitude, good work ethic, be non-judgmental, and most importantly be flexible.
